**This photo certainly dates from the 1890's and I'm almost certain it's from either 1896/97 (the club's first ever season) or 1897/98.

The only player identified so far is Freddie Pearce who's next to the player with the ball in the front row. C J King is probably the player in the white cap second from the right in the back row.

The officials include chairman Henry Hall (fifth from left at back with fur collared coat), Honourary Secretary Arthur Stickels (next to Hall, wearing checked cap), Colonel Rowland Hill (third from left at front) and committee member Robert Florance (extreme right at front).

If this photo does date from 1896/97 as I suspect then the player holding the ball is most likely Reverend Edward Taylor-Jones.
